作品について / Program notes:
“完璧な音楽家”とも称され“アメリカ音楽”を作り上げたとされるジョージ・ガーシュイン(1898～1937)の作品を金管8重奏のメドレーに編曲したものの第２弾です。(第１弾はこちら)
このメドレーは、以下の５曲から構成されています。
?ピアノ協奏曲
?クラップ・ヨー・ハンズ
?誰かが私を見つめている
?魅惑のリズム
?アイ･ガット･リズム
この編曲は、伊奈町立小針中学校吹奏楽部の委嘱により2011年に編曲したもので、同年11月５日に行われた、第35回埼玉県アンサンブルコンテストにおいて、同校金管8重奏によって初演されました。
