Prokofiev’s music for ‘Romeo and Juliet’ is one of the great ballet scores, right up there with Tchaikovsky’s ‘Swan Lake’ and ‘The Sleeping Beauty.’ From a concert performance of excerpts, given by the BBCSO under Leonard Slatkin at the 2003 Proms, we hear the well-known “Dance of the Knights.”
