Most people knew Lorin Maazel as a great conductor, but were not aware of his violin playing. Telarc asked us to record this incredibly intricate, passionate and colorful virtuoso piece with the splendid first chair players of the Cleveland Orchestra. A dream offer. I love this piece so much.
