Celebrating the Wiener Philharmoniker’s 175th Anniversary, Deutsche Grammophon presents a limited and numbered vinyl edition – only 1842 sets have been pressed: 1842 being the year the orchestra was founded. Presented with original sleeves, this edition features recordings with five great conductors across 6 LPs, including the first release of Bruckner’s 2nd Symphony with Riccardo Muti, recorded at the Salzburg Festival 2016, as well as legendary recordings with Kleiber, Abbado, Bernstein, Karajan. The lacquers for this 180-gram set have been cut at Emil Berliner Studios, mastered from the original analogue tapes and pressed at Optimal.
