Brahms: Double Concerto for violin and cello
Two great favourites with Finnish audiences, Alina Pogostkina and Jan-Erik Gustafsson, take the stage together as the soloists in the Double Concerto by Johannes Brahms. This concerto, composed in 1887, was to be Brahms’s last orchestral work. The Second Symphony by the Danish composer Carl Nielsen will be conducted by Okko Kamu. Headed “The Four Temperaments”, the symphony is in four movements each reflecting a different temperament: choleric, phlegmatic, melancholic and sanguine.
