“Myrtle Bouquets”. Eduard Strauss composed the waltz Myrthen-Sträußchen for a party to celebrate the engagement of archduchess Gisela to Prince Leopold of Bavaria. The party was held at the Volksgarten in Vienna on 3rd May 1872; in the following April the wedding took place.
