In 1977, Wolfgang Sawallisch conducted a live Ring in Münich where Peter Hofmann sang the role of Loge. Hofmann, a Heldentenor who would sing often at Bayreuth in the 1970s and 1980s, would be mostly regarded for his performance as Siegmund in the Jahrhundertring conducted by Boulez. His interpretation of Loge, however, is itself very remarkable and little known.
