Wynton Marsalis (1961) is an internationally acclaimed trumpeter, composer, arranger, bandleader, singer, educator, leading advocate of American culture and artistic director of Jazz At Lincoln Center. He plays his beautiful arrangement of the ‘Canon in D’, masterpiece of the German composer, organist, harpsichordist and teacher Johann Pachelbel (1653–1706). Recorded in the album ‘Baroque Music for Trumpets’ (1988).
