Dame Mitsuko Uchida joined forces with Seiji Ozawa and the Saito Kinen Orchestra in 2006 in this performance of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto in E flat major. Ozawa formed this ensemble in 1992 in an effort to merge Japanese orchestras and performers with international artists.
As inspiring as Uchida’s Mozart performances have always been, some might argue that her Beethoven interpretations are every bit as good; if not better!
