Musicians of all ages and abilities joined the Fabulous Philadelphians for a Double Bass PlayIN on May 3, 2014 onstage in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center. The event, lead by Orchestra bassist Henry Scott and Assistant Principal Bass Joseph Conyers, featured 61 double bass players including members of the Orchestra’s bass section. Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin made a special guest appearance to lead the assembled players in several pieces, concluding with the “Ode to Joy” from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
