”Panis angelicus”はラテン語で、日本語では「天使の糧」または「天使のパン」と訳されており、美しい旋律から、演奏会などで単独曲として演奏されることが多い曲です。
クリスマスシーズンに披露される事も多いのと、亡くなった声楽の師匠に３年前の12月に少しレッスンして頂いた曲なので思い出に残っており、また、私は何の宗教にも属しておりませんが、この曲を聴いていると「世界には本当に美しく清らかで愛すべき存在がたくさんいる」という優しい気持ちになれるので、この曲を選びました。
歌詞は、中世の神学者であるトマス・アクィナス（1225-1274）によるカトリックの讃美歌「Sacris Solemniis」の2節から採られています。
なお、作曲者のセザール・フランク（1822-1890）は、ベルギー出身で、オルガニストとしてもフランスで活躍しました。彼はフランス音楽普及のために、フォーレやサン=サーンスと共にフランス国民音楽協会の設立に携わり、1872年にパリ音楽院の教授に迎えられました。
今回は、教会でもある東京のルーテル市ヶ谷のホールを借りて、撮影させて頂きました。
こちらでは、３年前に演奏会で歌わせて頂きましたが、パイプオルガンやクロスがモダンでオシャレだなぁと思います。

“Panis angelicus” is a Latin word that translates as “angelic food” or “angelic bread”.
Due to its beautiful melody, it’s often played as a single song in concerts.
It’s often performed during the Christmas period, and it’s a song that my deceased singing teacher taught me in December three years ago, so for me it is a very sweet memory, even if I do not belong to any religion.
When I listen to this song, I seem to perceive many small and big essences, pure and adorable in the world, so I chose to perform this song.
The texts are taken from ll Verse of the Catholic hymn “Sacris Solemniis” by the medieval scholar and theologian Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274).
The composer Cesar Frank (1822-1890) was originally from Belgium and was also active in France as an organist.
He took part in the creation of the French National Music Association with Foret and Saint-Saens to spread French music, and was professor of the Paris Conservatory in the 1872.
This time I rented the Lutheran Ichigaya hall at Tokyo, which is also a church, and took this video.

“Panis angelicus” è una parola latina che si traduce come “cibo angelico” o “pane angelico”.
A causa della sua bella melodia, è spesso suonata come brano singolo nei concerti.
È spesso eseguita durante il periodo natalizio, ed è una canzone che la mia defunta maestra di canto mi ha insegnato nel Dicembre di tre anni fa, quindi per me è un dolcissimo ricordo, anche se io non appartengo a nessuna religione.
Quando ascolto questa canzone, mi sembra di percepire tante piccole e grandi essenze, pure e adorabili nel mondo, quindi ho scelto di eseguire questa melodia.
I testi sono tratti dal II Verso dell’inno cattolico “Sacris Solemniis” dello studioso e teologo medievale Tommaso d’Aquino (1225-1274).
Il compositore Cesar Frank (1822-1890) era originario del Belgio ed era attivo anche in Francia come organista.
Ha preso parte alla creazione dell’Associazione Nazionale Francese di Musica con Foret e Saint-Saens per diffondere la musica francese, ed è stato professore del Conservatorio di Parigi nel 1872.

Ho cantato in questa Hall per un concerto svoltosi tre anni fa e penso che gli organi a canne e le stoffe siano moderni e alla moda.
Ho registrato prima l’arpa e poi il canto.
Mi dispiace se ci sono punti in cui il suono sembra strano.
Temo che i sottotitoli nella parte inferiore dello schermo possano essere visti sull’iPad, ma non possano essere visti sul cellulare a meno che lo schermo non sia ingrandito.
