————————————————-

Mitsuko Uchida – an acclaimed pianist who received global attention from her complete performance of concertos and sonatas by Mozart – has officially recorded a few works by Chopin, despite her 2nd prize award from 1970 International Chopin Piano Competition. Nevertheless, Uchida never excluded Chopin from her repertoire. As she stated in an interview that though her repertoire is mainly among German and Viennese School (Beethoven, Schubert, Mozart, Schoenberg, Berg, etc.), she also shares a predilection for French composers (Debussy, Messiaen, etc.) and Chopin.
