In 2000, the BBCSO celebrated its 70th anniversary with a special concert at the Barbican Hall in London. Leonard Slatkin had just been appointed its new Chief Conductor and he marked the occasion by introducing and conducting Stravinsky’s version of “Happy Birthday.”
